چکیده
Numerical simulations, using a lattice-Boltzmann technique, have been carried out to study the effect of aerodynamic loading and Reynolds number on aeroacoustics porous trailing-edge insert. The airfoil is National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics 0018 with last 20% its chord being replaceable insert based Ni-Cr-Al metal foam mean pore diameter 0.8 mm. modeled as an equivalent fluid region governed by Darcy's law. angle-of-attack set 7.8°, freestream numbers are 2.7 × 105 5.4 105. amount noise reduction produced generally decreases or increased, although far-field directivity remains similar that solid case. Unlike insert, in which sources concentrated at trailing edge, those distributed across medium surface, they promote phase interference causes attenuation. LES tests on airfoil trailing edge serration
In the present study, a large number of acoustic simulations are carried out for a low noise airfoil with different Trailing Edge Serrations (TES). The Ffowcs Williams-Hawkings (FWH) acoustic analogy is used for noise prediction at trailing edge. The acoustic solver is running on the platform of our in-house incompressible flow solver EllipSys3D. The flow solution is first obtained from the Lar...

15 صفحه اولUnsteady Aerodynamics and Trailing-edge Vortex Sheet of An Airfoil
Unsteady flow models of wings and airfoils have been studied to understand the aerodynamic performance of natural flyers and provide improved maneuverability for micro aerial vehicles (MAVs). Vortex methods have been extensively applied to reduce the dimensionality of these aerodynamic models, based on the proper estimation of the distribution and evolution of the vortices in the wake. In such ...
متن کاملAn experimental study of airfoil instability tonal noise with trailing edge serrations
This paper presents an experimental study of the effect of trailing edge serrations on airfoil instability noise. Detailed aeroacoustic measurements are presented of the noise radiated by an NACA-0012 airfoil with trailing edge serrations in a low to moderate speed flow under acoustical free field conditions. The existence of a separated boundary layer near the trailing edge of the airfoil at a...
